This unique pair of chairs was designed in the 1950s by Danny Ho Fong for his studio, Tropi-cal. A combination of braiding and weaving techniques were used. The seats are supported by a painted iron frame. Danny Ho Fong's aesthetic was an amalgam of Tropical and Californian modernism, and he aspired to create furniture that was suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Despite his intention for his pieces to additionally be used outdoors, this particular piece is advised for indoor or protected (covered) outdoor use.
